After nearly five decades in pediatric dentistry, I’ve learned one thing:

During my career, I’ve had the privilege of:
- Treating thousands of children and their families.
- Serving as President of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
- Serving as the AAPD National Spokesperson.
- Speaking nationally and internationally on pediatric dentistry, leadership, and team development.
- Founding the nation’s first Pediatric Dental Assistant School.
- Creating the Pediatric Dental Team Association to support pediatric dental practices across the country.
Why I Created the PDTA
Early in my career, I realized one of the biggest challenges facing pediatric dentists wasn’t providing excellent clinical care.
It was building and leading an exceptional team.
Throughout my career, I watched talented employees struggle—not because they didn’t care, but because they lacked clear expectations, consistent systems, and structured training.
I experienced those same frustrations in my own practice.
That’s why I created the Pediatric Dental Team Association.
Not to create another organization.
To give pediatric dentists practical tools, proven systems, and real-world training that help teams become more confident, more consistent, and more successful.
